Dennys: Styling the Future
Dennys Brands, the UK’s largest supplier of clothing and footwear to the hospitality industry, collaborated with Graduate Diploma Fashion Media Styling Students from London College of Fashion on an exciting project. The students were challenged to unleash their imaginations and totally transform a simple apron into something special and unique through styling.
The results was showcased on 30 June 2015 at a Private Preview held at the Anise Gallery 13A Shad Thomas, London.
Dennys Brands Managing Director Nick Jubert explains: "It was a great opportunity to work alongside our neighbours London College of Fashion, a leading global provider of fashion education, also based in the heart of London's West End. We find it inspirational to look through the lens of these young students and see how our long heritage of catering clothing can be made relevant to a younger audience."
"Aprons are great for creating a simple, yet instant uniform look. The challenge we set the students was to style them in an exciting way using two mediums, photography and film. We were intrigued to see how the LCF students would transform and re-interpret the new Dennys 40 colour apron range.
Diana Donaldson Course Leader explains, “Collaboration is an essential skill for any stylist. The challenge of working with a heritage brand that combines both commercial and creative interests has provided a valuable opportunity for students to engage with a real industry client and to demonstrate the potential of social media on brands today.
